COVID-19 Vaccination Updates

Vaccinating Phase 1b – Groups 2-5 is going to take some time. We have approximately 5,000 community members age 65 and older. We have given 6,000 vaccines in the county, 25% completed for our total target!

Phase 1a

Group 1
Frontline medical workers; qualified long-term-care-facility (LTCF) residents and staff; and EMS and other first responders​

SECOND-DOSE VACCINATION

Group 2
Healthcare personnel and residents in other LTCFs and congregate care sites; hospice programs; mobile crisis care and related services; secure transport​

Outpatient settings serving specific high-risk groups; in-home care; day treatment services; non-emergency medical transport​

Healthcare personnel in other outpatient, public health and early learning settings (including dentists and allied health practitioners); death care workers

In Hood River County, Phase 1a also includes those working in/residents of group homes and senior living settings; foster care; personal paid or unpaid caregivers; those assisting with intellectually or developmentally delayed people; and vaccine support industries, particularly public utilities and public works.

If you are in Phase 1a (all groups) or Phase 1b – Group 1 and have not yet been contacted by the health department or your supervisor/administrator about receiving your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, please email covidvaccine@co.hood-river.or.us.

The second dose of your COVID-19 vaccine will be given at the same location as your first. You will be contacted to receive your second dose 4-6 weeks after you receive your first dose.

Subsequent phases of COVID-19 vaccine eligibility in Hood River County will be determined following Oregon Health Authority (OHA) guidance. We will update this information when we have it. The following have been listed by OHA as examples of people who will be included in subsequent phases:

  • Critical workers in high-risk settings workers who are in industries essential to the functioning of society and at substantially higher risk of exposure
  • People of all ages with underlying conditions that put them at moderately higher risk
  • General population
